Our Program is well known for a strong focus on technical skills. We need to develop a strong foundation to base those skills on. Because we are land based creatures the first step is to “dis-inhibit” the natural response of the primitive part of our brain. This is the part that turns on the ‘fight or flight’ state and it is not conducive to developing or improving our aquatic skills. For swimmers to reach their potential, they need to be comfortable in their environment. There are many exercises we do with our groups that help the swimmers achieve this. So if you’re wondering what your child’s group is doing sometimes - rest assured these are all part of the process to improve their skills in the aquatic environment.
In an ideal situation – your children will have the same tutor for the whole term. More often than not, this will happen. However, sometimes staff get sick, or have a university commitment, and cannot work. At times like these we will do our best to replace them with our tutors that have a similar teaching style/personality to your child’s usual tutor. All tutors are working off the same weekly program though – so the lesson will be the same.
Families with 3 children or more in the program receive a 10% discount off their fees.
Yes Please!!!
Why?
- It keeps your heads warm
- It keeps our water clean
- It keeps your hair out of your face when you are swimming
Before the start of each term we have a full staff training run by Brett Naylor. We frequently have guest speakers who extend our knowledge of child development, teaching techniques and the latest swimming philosophies.
Definitely! Children who swim throughout the year will progress more quickly than those who take time off. We also find children then need to relearn the skills.
Imagine progress if children took the winter off school!!
Other benefits include:
- Getting the first option of class time coming into the Summer term
- Swimming will never be cancelled due to bad weather
- You can watch in a warm & comfortable environment
- We have lots of options 7 days per week to fit in around your other commitments
- Swimming all year round keeps you fit and healthy
We have Deck Assistants roaming the pool deck in bright blue tops – they are best people to talk to about your child’s progress. Please feel free to talk to them at any time – if you do so while your child is in the water, they can watch your child swim and then give you some instant feedback.
We do makeup lessons if your child is sick and you have called us prior to the class starting. (Maximum of 2 per term)
Credits or refunds are not given for missed lessons.
For lessons missed due to public holidays or pool closure, the term fees will be adjusted accordingly.
Swimming is monthly and continuous. Your booking automatically rolls over each month / term / year.
If you would like to take a break - please let us know before your next month rolls over.
We take a break for primary school holidays and fees for that month are adjusted accordingly.
If you need to change days/times/ groups – be in touch 🙂
We are never full and you won’t miss out on a space! We will contact you over the first week of the holidays to arrange a time that suits you.
It may be that in your first term with us, you may not get your first option. But then when you rebook for the next term, you are among those with the first options to all the vacancies.
